EXT-HDBT150M – KanexPro

Q: Is it possible to use CAT5e cable for a length of approx 100ft on the EXT-HDBT150M kit. Please advise.

A: Thanks for asking, The EXT-HDBT150M Kit can extend up to distances of up to 150m or 492ft. For the best performance, it is recommended to use solid core Cat6/Cat6A cable that is unbroken and a single continuous run. Solid core cable is highly recommended for any ethernet cable run over 100ft, because stranded cables no longer meet performance specifications at distances close to 100ft. That said, if you were to use a solid core 100ft Cat5e cable the EXT-HDBT150M should operate normally.
